Summer Roundtable: Let's Talk!
Our summer series of discussions (Sundays at 9:30 am) is currently focusing on Disaster Preparedness. On July 15, we will talk with Pastor Kathy Haueisen and Carol Flores about their book, "A Ready Hope: Effective Disaster Ministry for Congregations." After having experienced Hurricane Harvey last year, we want to focus on how we can be prepared in the event of another disaster situation.
We are collecting cleaning and hygiene supplies through July 29. We will put disaster relief kits together on July 29, and we'll be discussing other ways Covenant can be a resource and safe haven in the event of another disaster.
DAY CAMP at Covenant is July 23-27 for completed grades K-7.
Cam is from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Only $60 for first registrant - additional siblings $35/each. CLICK HERE for more information and to register!
Back to School Drives
We are collecting financial donations for Katy Christian Ministries (for purchase of school supplies), school supplies for Schmalz Elementary, and composition books for MESA Outreach for their Stuff the Bus program.
Meals on Wheels
Covenant has become an outpost for Meals on Wheels to better serve our community! We encourage you to volunteer - it doesn't take much time to be a BIG help to our neighbors! If you have questions or would like to train to become a volunteer, contact Sue Tabbert or Sara Laird (Meals on Wheels Coordinator). Regular trainings are scheduled at Covenant on the first Tuesday of every month from 10:00 - 11:30 am in the Community Room.
Partnership with MESA Outreach Food Pantry
Covenant is partnering with MESA Outreach Food Panty (formerly HNwCC) to provide SOUP to families in our community. MESA Food Pantry serves people from all walks of life by providing basic food needs. Each month they serve over 2000 pounds of food to approximately 100 families in need. They are particularly in need of soup to distribute each month. This is where Covenant can help. Please consider purchasing a few extra cans of soup each month while you are doing your grocery shopping. Soup can be any brand, type or size. The cans will be collected at the soup table in the sanctuary on an on-going basis, with a monthly blessing and delivery of our soup cans to MESA. Thank you for helping others in our community!
Volunteers are needed on Saturdays, July 21 & August 18 to help distribute produce from the Houston Food Bank to families in need. Meet at 8:30 am at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 16000 Rippling Water off of Hwy 6 in Bear Creek.
