Blood Drive - April 21

Covenant will be hosting the Blood Center donor coach on Sunday, April 21 from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm in our parking lot. The need for blood donations to save lives is higher than ever, and the restrictions for giving blood have changed so MORE PEOPLE are now able to donate! Check with Sue Tabbert if you want to know more. PLEASE plan to donate if you can! You may schedule your appointment ahead HERE or just drop in that Sunday between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.

The Blood Center will be giving a free umbrella and coupon for a short stack of pancakes at IHOP to all who donate!

Dueling Pianos:  Songs from the Top 100 - Fundraiser Event - May 25

Join us on Saturday, May 25 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm for a FUN event for a good cause! We will enjoy a spaghetti dinner while listening to the wonderful music of Covenant's own Dr. John Weinel and Johnny Salvesen (Director of Worship & Music at Messiah Lutheran Church).

You may fill out a song request form HERE, and give a donation (whatever you feel is appropriate). The money raised is going to support Grace Place in Houston. Their mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for vulnerable youth of all sexualities and genders experiencing homelessness, providing nourishment, healthy relationships, and hope for the future. Save the date - you won't want to miss this fun event!

ONGOING MINISTRIES:

Partnership with MESA Outreach Food Pantry

Covenant is partnering with MESA Outreach Food Panty to provide non-perishable food to families in our community. MESA Food Pantry serves people from all walks of life by providing basic food needs. Each month they serve over 2000 pounds of food to approximately 100 families in need. They are particularly in need of breakfast cereals to distribute each month. This is where Covenant can help. Please consider purchasing some 14 oz. boxes or cereal, small boxes of oatmeal, or instant oatmeal or grits each month while you are doing your grocery shopping. The food is collected at the church on an on-going basis, with regular deliveries of our donations to MESA. Thank you for helping others in our community!  NOTE:  Our challenge for the season of Lent was to collect 4000 servings of breakfast for those in need, and we actually collected 4837 servings or 477 lbs. of food!!

We will take donations any time - just email the church office or call us at 281-578-8799!

Partnership with Schmalz Elementary

Covenant also partners with Schmalz Elementary in Katy ISD.  We support the teachers and students in various ways and participate in special projects from time to time.  Some of our members serve as mentors for students at Schmalz.  If you would like to apply to become a mentor or volunteer in other ways, visit the Katy ISD website.

Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief

Covenant collects personal care kit items, which are assembled into kits for refugees around the world.  We collect items for these kits during the season of Lent that we will assemble into kits the Sunday after Easter.  The kits will eventually be sent by Lutheran World Relief to refugees in need all over the world. There is always a great need for these care kits, due to wars and natural disasters.
