UPCOMING EVENTS:

Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief

Covenant collects personal care kit items, which are assembled into kits for refugees around the world.  We are collecting items for these kits during the season of Lent (from now through Easter) that we will assemble into kits the Sunday after Easter.  The kits will eventually be sent by Lutheran World Relief to refugees in need all over the world. There is an especially great need for these care kits right now, due to wars and natural disasters.

ONGOING MINISTRIES:

Partnership with MESA Outreach Food Pantry

Covenant is partnering with MESA Outreach Food Panty to provide SOUP to families in our community. MESA Food Pantry serves people from all walks of life by providing basic food needs. Each month they serve over 2000 pounds of food to approximately 100 families in need. They are particularly in need of soup to distribute each month. This is where Covenant can help. Please consider purchasing a few extra cans of soup each month while you are doing your grocery shopping. Soup can be any brand, type or size. The cans will be collected at the soup table in the sanctuary on an on-going basis, with a monthly blessing and delivery of our soup cans to MESA. Thank you for helping others in our community!

We will take donations any time - just email the church office or call us at 281-578-8799!

Newspapers for CAPS (Citizens for Animal Protection) Animal Shelter

We collect newspapers for the CAPS shelter.  They go through a LOT of newspapers as they care for the animals at the shelter.  You are welcome to bring your newspapers to Covenant to help with this effort.

Partnership with Schmalz Elementary

Covenant also partners with Schmalz Elementary in Katy ISD.  We support the teachers and students in various ways and participated in a food distribution event in February 2022 at Schmalz in partnership with the Houston Food Bank.  We hope to do more of these events soon!  Some of our members serve as mentors for students at Schmalz.  If you would like to apply to become a mentor or volunteer in other ways, visit the Katy ISD website.
